The Utah Technology Council and four CEOs from top software companies in Saarland, Germany will host a breakfast to discuss cutting-edge technologies. The Utah Division of Homeland Security will host its Ready Your Business workshop on CyberSecurity: Data Storage/Protection and Recovery. Three data solution corporations have teamed up to provide attendees with information on data protection, backup and recovery options. The presenters are from Iomega, a Utah hardware manufacturer and solutions provider; Consonus, a Utah off-site data storage and recovery facility and Symantec, a data backup and protection provider. The Utah Advertising Federation will host its monthly luncheon featuring David Woolson, president of entertainment company, 45thParallel Pictures. Woolson will share an overview of the rapidly emerging area of branded entertainment, as well as the need for marketing agencies to learn more about "Madison and Vine." Woolson will also give a briefing of the current climate in the entertainment business for film, television and music and provide insight about projects emerging between advertisers and Hollywood in traditional and emerging media. The Utah Valley Entrepreneurs' Forum is hosting a panel discussion, "Do Business Incubators Really Help?" The Women In Leadership group will hold its monthly meeting on The Utah State Legislature -- A Woman's Perspective featuring Rep. Lorie Fowlke, who will share her experiences as a new legislator and her advice for anyone who might want to run for a legislative office. Fowlke earned a B.S. in Law Enforcement and worked as the first female police officer on patrol in Santa Barbara, Calif. She is a former businesswoman and newspaper columnist. Dixie State will host its bi-monthly Business and Ethics Forum featuring Paul Broadhead, manager of Wells Dairy, Blue Bunny Ice Cream. The price tag for low integrity in business in the United States was recently estimated at more than $1.15 trillion each year. That total included $400 billion in employee fraud, $230 billion in time theft, $200 billion apiece in industrial espionage and counterfeiting, and $120 billion in employee dishonesty. Dixie State College's Business Administration program has devised a plan to ensure that its students graduate with a set of ethical tools to help deflate some of those figures. Location: DSC campus.
